New EP out today!

Today is Release Day for my new EP, "Finally"! This is a collection of contemporary pop songs with touches of soul and jazz, written by myself (Hollie Sue) and recorded with my band, West Avenue.

The release is digital-only for now, and you can listen and download for free on Bandcamp.

BBC radio airplay

One of my new songs, "Nomadic", which was recorded with my band West Avenue, was played on BBC Introducing on BBC Radio Sheffield on Saturday! Bless Christian Carlisle and his cotton socks for playing it when none of the lesser radio stations would have a bar of it - pun intended.

It's a real confidence booster at a time when one was sorely needed, so I'm both grateful and proud. Here's the podcast. There's loads of good music on the show, so I hope you'll listen to the other bands too, and we're on at about 25 minutes in.

(Podcast only available for a short time)

The song, "Nomadic", will be out on Friday 29th January as part of a new EP, "Finally" and will be available on Bandcamp.

Exciting news

Drum roll please! 16 months after my last release, I've now ready to announce a brand new EP, called "Finally". The new EP is full of my own self-penned songs, and recorded with my band, "West Avenue". The genre is contemporary pop with touches of soul and jazz.

The release is out on Friday 29th January 2016, and will be digital-only for now - but free white-label CD copies are available to press and media contacts on request.

"West Avenue" is a trio, made up of myself on vocals and ukulele, my husband Brian Morrell on piano, and our good friend Craig Smith on percussion. We are based in Doncaster (UK) and all live on the same street, hence the name of the band :-)
